Coventry Carol

The plaintive nature of this Christmastide carol is reflected in the construction of this arrangement. Using a modal harmony, the piece begins quietly, repeats the melody a little more insistently with a framing of ostinato patterns, and presses to a high point in the third melodic iteration, relaxing and returning to the subdued state it began in.
