A serious work adapted from the symphonic poem composed by George Gershwin, arranger Chris Sharp has accepted the challenge to create this amazing arrangement for big band. This chart is a primarily a bright samba but it has a slow middle section which reverts to the fiery samba groove. The written or improvised solo space is for alto 1 and trumpet 2 and the lead trumpet range is to D above the staff. A percussion part is included as well. This is a brilliant arrangement and will certainly be a high point in any concert or festival performance.
