Cuckoo Cuckoo

This jaunty little work is based on a text from Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost, one of his earliest comedies, and is musically set using many different sounds, articulations and effects. The tongue-in-cheek text talks of married life and the woe that comes from being unable to pursue the frolicsome fruits of spring. This piece is designed for upper-level high school singers, honors choirs and festivals.
