This is an accessible arrangement of the traditional Hanukkah song,
  "S'VIVON", for beginning to
    
    intermediate level strings. This arrangement has one modulation to
  challenge your students.
    
    
    
    The title, "S'VIVON", is a transliteration of the Hebrew word
  meaning Dreidel; a spinning top used during Hanukkah to play the traditional
  children's dreidel game. The first line of the song can be
    
    translated; "Dreidel, spin, spin, spin.".

This is a stunning rhapsody for intermediate or advanced orchestra. This piece is scored for a small full orchestra. However, the orchestration of this piece is somewhat flexible. Some instruments are always doubled in other parts and some are included primarily for fullness, color, or texture. In the instrumentation list of the score, these extra instruments are labeled as "extra" and may be omitted in situations where full instrumentation is not practical or available.

This is a concert march for standard Concert Band instrumentation.  It is in the "jaunty" style of early 20th century British marches and should be fun for both audiences and players alike. The N.C.R. Band was organized in 1945 under the auspices of the National Cash Register Company in Dayton, Ohio.  This piece was written in 1984 for that band and is dedicated to Mr. Clark Haines, long time director of the N.C.R. Band and mentor to thousands of young musicians.  The band features hundreds of high school aged musicians from around the Miami Valley who audition and are selected to participate in the ensemble.  Originally, and for many years, the band performed its Summer concert series in the bandshell at N.C.R.'s Old River Park, a recreational retreat for decades of N.C.R. employees and their families.  The tradition of the N.C.R. Band continues today in its newest incarnation as the Carillon Park Band, which continues the tradition of auditioning and selecting talented area high school musicians to perform their eclectic  Summer concert series, now in Dayton's open air Carillon Historical Park.

"BOBBIESAMBA" is an Up-Latin chart for 14-Piece Jazz Band.  Parts, of course, may be doubled as needed.  The piece has an optional flute part, which can be substituted for the Alto Sax. 3 part.  The Trumpet parts may be played on Flugelhorn if available.  The difficulty level of the piece is approximately 3.5-4 and its duration is around 4:33. "AN DER SCHONEN, BLAUEN DONAU" (colloquially "The Blue Danube Waltz") is actually a suite of five separate waltzes. It was originally intended to provide extended dance music for a dancing audience. This arrangement is a full and faithful transcription of the original, with some abridgments for keys, ranges, and brevity's sake. It is sure to challenge your advanced ensembles and delight your audiences.

THE BEAUTIFUL BLUE DANUBE

This is a quick, lite, holiday fantasy on the traditional French carol
  "PAT-A-PAN" for string orchestra. 
  It is contrapuntal, challenging and great fun when the kids get it!

This is a delightful setting of the "Dance of the Sugar Plum
  Fairy" from the NUTCRACKER Ballet for string orchestra plus piano.

DANSE DE LA FEIE-DRAGEIE

In contemporary educational parlance, the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math curricula are emphasized and widely termed, S.T.E.M education. Recently, the integrative importance of the creative arts has been conceded and included, transforming this educational acronym in to S.T.E.A.M. education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). Whatever the acronym, success in these areas of study involve skillful navigation of the creative and collaborative process. Each movement of this piece portrays one of the many aspects of this scintillating journey. This piece is written to be played either as one piece with six contiguous movements, or as one piece with six separate movements. To play through the piece without stoping, use the "Segue Endings" as indicated. To stop after any of the movements, use the "Fine Ending" for that movement. Beginning measures for each movement are marked in the score. This piece may be played by String Orchestra alone without any wind, percussion, or keyboard parts by playing all of the cued notes in the string parts.

This easy concert march was written for the Panorama Middle School Band in Colorado Springs,
Colorado. There is lot's of repetition and doubling to ensure success for any ensemble with or without
full instrumentation.

This highly emotive Adagio is set on the theme of "still waters" from Psalm 23 in the Bible. It is challenging both in its range and in the shaping of its ensemble phrases. It is my hope that its intricate lines and voicings will bring your audiences to silence.
