Cyclone

This ambitious, advanced composition, was written to feature a quartet of marimba players who play on two marimbas facing each other. These parts are playable with two mallets, and players are frequently called on to reach across to the marimba opposite them. With 12 parts, many traditional pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments are used. Of special interest are two Zil Bells (high pitched small cymbal bell), bell plate, anvil, trash can lid and three roto toms. At just over four and a half minutes, this is a energetic work for the driven ensemble.
