Fred Sturm presents another fresh, innovative arrangement. Diva, a solo feature originally written for trombonist Jim Pugh, can be played by trombone, or a soloist of your choosing. It starts with a clever and playful introduction and moves into the melody set to a jazz waltz feel and then alternates throughout with 3/4 and 4/4 meters. The soloist is featured on the melody and solo section with lush ensemble writing coming to the forefront after the solo. The chart ends by combining the clever introduction with the melody and improvisation from the soloist. A great contrasting tune for any concert or festival program. Simply great!
