This piece is for SA a cappella choir with some carrying hand held percussion instruments.  Some carry triangles, or finger cymbals, others carry small drums or tambourines and the remainder clapping.  The piece starts with an optional processional by the choir to the stage area.  It also employs some sections that are whispered and sections with divided parts.  It is based upon a anonymous carol celebrating the merriment of the last night of the Christmas season.

This medium grade piece was written for a 4-part cello ensemble but could be played by
four cellos. There are three short stand-alone contrasting movements totaling almost 6
minutes in playing time. The first piece, March features changing meters and the use of
pizzicato and arco. The second piece, Ballad requires sensitive ensemble intonation and
tempo flexibility. The third and last piece, Folk Dance is a rondo-like finish in an Allegretto
tempo. This Suite is designed to feature cello students in a concert setting or for solo and
ensemble.
