Downtown Strut is a jazz/rock song . It is an ensemble piece without individual solos . The syncopation is within the skill range of most bands . There is a fugal entry section with the band grouped into one of four sections . At times the piece sounds like a rock band and at other times like a jazz band . It is a fun piece to play and will be liked by the audience
