These cadences are designed to be playable by small percussion sections, and to offer the teacher/leader some flexibility in their use. They have all been used successfully with sections ranging in size from two to fifteen players.
Each page contains a set of two nearly identical cadences. The first (a) version has a part for tri-toms and the second (b) uses quad-toms.
All cadences use a single bass drum line.
The cymbal part is optional on all cadences and can be omitted if desired.
Cadences 1 through 5 can be performed effectively without the tom parts, with as few as two players, one on snare drum and one on bass drum.
Cadences 6 through 9 require either tri-toms or quads, so they can be performed with as few as three players (snare, toms, bass).
In addition to the cadences, a pair of drum commands for marching band use are included.
The cadences are printed in sizes that will fit into a standard marching folio.
THE PUBLISHER GRANTS PERMISSION FOR THE PURCHASER TO MAKE PHOTOCOPIES OF THE CADENCES FOR USE BY THE PLAYERS IN THE PURCHASER'S ENSEMBLES AS NEEDED.
