Eclipse for Eight Horns

A native of Poland, Machala quickly gained recognition as an excellent hornist, gaining positions with the Cracow Radio Symphony, Sydney (Australia) Symphony Orchestra, along with an impressive career in solo and ensemble work. Recently named Professor Emeritus of Horn for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Professor of Horn at the Chopin University in Warsaw, Poland, Machala has turned more and more to arranging and composition, adding to the repertoire for his instrument. Eclipse, a new work for eight horns, gives equal weight to all parts in a dynamic new concert piece.
