Elegie

Written in honor of a friend who succumbed tragically to leukemia shortly after high school, Elegie contemplates the emotional cycle of mourning - heart-breaking loss and flashes of anger surface, yet there is still time to celebrate a wonderous life. Built on two simple melodies first a sad lament, then a happy yet nostalgic variation on the same tune. Grade 4.
