Professional musician Idris Harries (QL Australia) has said of it "I love the harmonies - the tension and release reminds me of the Tallis Fantasia (Vaughan Williams) also of John Tavener's 'Song for Athene'. I like the textures and the rhythmic language. It all works....and is prayerful....it is reflective and gives us space to think." It features some exquisite harmonies and a glorious central melody played by the first cellos and first violins in unison. Some double-stopping is required but only on perfect fifth intervals.
This work is within the capability of a reasonably advanced high school orchestra, as was demonstrated by the chamber orchestra of Park City High, Utah, in April 2015, under the baton of the composer.
