This work expresses that philosophy through the text found in Kazuaki Tanahashi's eloquent poem, Encounter. This SATB setting features prominently in Wayland Rogers' original song cycle "I-Thou" written for vocal quartet, commissioned and premiered in 2018 by Fourth Coast Ensemble in Chicago.
