Entrance of the Queen of Sheba

Written for mallet ensemble and two flutes, this selection offers ensembles the format to demonstrate how well Baroque music adapts to percussion instruments.  Bells, two small marimbas (4 octaves), one 4.3 octave marimba (low A) and one five octave marimba are used in addition to the two flutes.  If four marimbas are not available, parts can be performed by sharing two marimbas.  This medium graded selection will provide a nice contrast to concerts which not only highlights the beauty of Handel's music, but welcomes the addition of woodwinds into the mix.
