This is the fourth fugal work composed for this ensemble. Much like the preceding fugues, this piece stands in tandem with the lyricism and sweetness that only woodwind instruments can impart. It encompasses subtle nuances and a gentle interplay between the instruments, commencing with the flute that carries the theme reminiscent of my name, as evident from the outset of the score.

Having previously composed a fugal work in F, I relinquished the literal inclusion of the theme incorporating my name "Fabio" to align with my overarching goals for this series of compositions for the woodwind quartet. I am exceedingly gratified to have crafted this piece and hope that you find it as appealing as I do.

Format

This piano concerto is one of the most important pieces that I will be published in 2023. It has an atypical instrumentation for an early romantic piano concerto, including three trombones (alto, tenor, and basso) and a contrabassoon. Structurally, it is divided into three movements typical of a classical-romantic concerto, with the first in sonata form, the second in a ternary form that I have developed since my first symphony, and a Rondo as the final movement.

This guitar concerto, composed during the first half of 2024, stands as one of my most challenging and significant works. The piece is thematically inspired by the Gospel of our Lord and is structured into three movements, each reflecting key elements of biblical history. The first movement, The Creation, captures the magnificence of the world's genesis, characterized by rapid and technically demanding passages that present an extraordinary challenge for the guitarist. The second movement, The Pentateuch and the Prophets, offers a reflective journey through the foundational books and prophetic writings of the Old Testament. The final movement, The Gospel of Our Lord, celebrates Christ's message with a triumphant and uplifting conclusion.

Throughout the concerto, specific passages are directly inspired by different biblical texts, weaving a spiritual narrative into the music. This work is not only a testament to the technical and expressive capabilities of the guitar but also an offering of praise and reflection on the Scriptures. I hope this piece resonates with you as much as it has with me during its creation.

  director of D.P. High School, a very competent teacher and a lovely person,
  this song was inspired in the experience I had there as a Bassist.

This collection of four Advent hymns was composed to guide the faithful in preparation for the coming of our Lord, reflecting on both His first coming in humility and His second coming in glory. Each hymn is rooted in Scripture and carries its own unique character:

First Sunday of Advent: A hymn of hope and anticipation, with an original poem and melody expressing the light of Christ kindled in our hearts.

Second Sunday of Advent: Inspired by Charles Coffin's "The Coming of Our God," this hymn emphasizes preparation and joy for the promises of salvation.

Third Sunday of Advent: Set in a responsorial style, this hymn is based on Charles Wesley's "Come, Thou Long-expected Jesus," blending plainchant and early congregational traditions.

Fourth Sunday of Advent: A solemn hymn reflecting on the Second Coming of Christ, portraying the culmination of time and the eternal wedding feast.

Each hymn is a heartfelt offering of praise and devotion, paired with carefully chosen Scripture passages and Psalms to enrich the Advent season.

This composition, my lengthiest musical work to date, takes us through a myriad of emotions over its six movements. From the tumultuous yet occasionally serene moments of the first movement to the tranquil second movement, and the festive and playful nature of the third and fifth movements. It also includes a fourth movement structured as a Theme and Variations and culminates in a Presto finale, with the sixth movement structured as a Sonata Form.

That piece is inspired by a Goethe tragic play, Faust, which tells the story of an Alchemist called Faust that was obsessed to gain knowledge of everything. He makes a pact with Mephistopheles to gain youth and a transcendental moment on the earth since Mephistopheles made a bet with God, saying that he could lure Faust.

As with the two Fugues I have previously releasedone in Eb Major and the other in A Minorthis composition exudes a captivating lyrical quality and a sweetness that only woodwind instruments can bestow. Despite its unconventional movements and contrapuntal resolutions, it holds a distinct place as a special piece, ideally suited for those aiming to showcase their prowess in rendering delicate and mellifluous melodies, brimming with opportunities for profound interpretive expression. It is my conviction that the audience will wholeheartedly embrace this musical journey.

I highly recommend performing this piece in conjunction with the aforementioned fugues that I have shared, as they form an integral part of an ongoing collection that I am diligently crafting. In due course, they will culminate into a unified collection of compositions. I am delighted to present this piece at a reasonable price, and I eagerly anticipate unveiling additional works of a similar nature in the times ahead.

This play was written in the first half of 2021 and dedicated to an illustrious Portuguese poet (Trovador), Rui Queimado, in which he tells the story of a man who regrets leaving his wife, and who in a terrible despair, asks God "Our Lord! and now what will become of me?". It was written keeping the original language of the time, the Galician-Portuguese; and composed for a tenor voice and Harp, but the harp can be changed by some harpsichord of XIII century or some organ, even a lute.

This Cantata in D Major, composed from 2022 to early 2024, features a libretto with texts by Salomo Franck (Movements 1, 3-5), St. John 14:23 (Movement 2), and Philipp Nicolai (Movement 6). Comprising six movements, the composition unfolds with a grand orchestral and choral presentation in the first movement, with exception of horns and clarinets. The second movement transitions into a Recitative with tenor and strings, while the third movement is an aria for Soprano II and solo strings. This song was written between April and June, it was composed in fugue
  form, in which each voice is repeated in the first phrase, and then in free
  counterpoint. I had the first ideas for the main melody while I was at
  school, so I wrote them down and composed the development of that idea. I put
  a lot of effort into it and the final result impressed me a lot.

Its creation demanded an extended period, and initially, my connection with the end result was lukewarm. However, upon subsequent reflection, I unearthed a profound value that set it apart within the fugue series. This piece carries an emotional weight, a poignant melancholy that lingers, unresolvable, especially evident in the initial half where a pause precedes a 'da capo' that unfolds at a slower pace. It concludes with a tragic resonance, yet not devoid of a glimmer of hope, adding a layer of sentimentality distinct from its counterparts.

This piece is part of a collection of musical works I am writing. It shares significant connections with the piece I previously published, my Fugue in Eb Major, also for woodwind quintet. Just like my previous fugue, it carries a compelling lyrical quality and a sweetness that only woodwind instruments can provide. Fugue in A-moll (Fugue in A Minor)

This piece is part of a study I was conducting. Despite being a composer for about 6 years, I have only had a brief formal study of counterpoint. I wanted to enhance my composing technique, so I began studying counterpoint on my own, aiming for a more academic approach. This fugue represents the culmination of all my studies. I completed this piece in its entirety on 31/07/2023, and I am very proud of the results I have achieved.

It is a highly lyrical piece for woodwind quintet, offering numerous possibilities for interpretations, and yet, it is easy to perform. It is well-suited for solo and ensemble performances, as well as other school activities involving music performance. I am delighted to be able to offer this piece at a reasonable price, and I sincerely hope you enjoy it as much as I did while writing it.
