Fable

Fable" is a well written concert work for a unique instrument. It is ideal for recitals and sure to be heard at saxophone conventions. The baritone sax part and the piano part are sophisticated yet playable; the high range goes up to F# without extended altissimo. The composer says, "'Fable' unfolds like an allegorical narrative, similar to many a fable by Aesop." Krzywicki pairs "an aggressive,assertive music" with "a pulsing yet lyrical event" to create the scene.
