Fresh treatments of three great hymns, Faith of Our Fathers (St. Catherine); Solid Rock; and O, How I Love Jesus combine in a contemplative medley requiring only a few easily executed bell changes, one key change, and practically no technical challenges. Much of the ringing is chordal, but lush, and on the beat, with the exception of a few finely scripted arpeggiations blended in for lovely effect. The meter begins in 3/4 then moves into a feeling of one, creating an interesting rhythmic juxtaposition which drives the piece to its sparkling conclusion.
