Fanfare and Romance

Fanfare and Romance is a powerful concert-style piece for percussion quartet. The fanfare section is a majestic combination of unison bombast and militaristic layering. The romance section is melodically driven by the marimba with a comparatively lighter texture in the other instruments. The piece is in ABA form with the fanfare motif returning at the end. The parts are evenly balanced throughout giving each player a chance at the spotlight.
