Fanfare, Fugue, and Chorale on CRUCIFER

This festive setting of "Lift High the Cross" (CRUCIFER) for Brass Choir (2 trumpets, 2 French horns, 2 Trombones, Euphonium, and Tuba) will inspire both audience and musicians alike. It is a programmatic telling of the story of the Christian church from the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ to the Last Day and the Church Triumphant revealed in the Book of Revelation. Cast into three rousing movements, the Fanfare is a celebration of the resurrection. The Fugue recounts the joys and struggles of the church on earth. In the final movement the Church Militant and the Church Triumphant join together in song. The work may be performed by brass alone or with organ. A choir and/or congregation may join in singing the final movement. The French Horn 1 part may be played by a trumpet and the Euphonium part may be played by a trombone or bass trombone.
