Fantasy Pieces for Clarinet and Piano, Op. 73

Schumann's groundbreaking Fantasy Pieces was part of a highly prolific year for the composer, who seemed intent on contributing to the repertoire of all under-represented instruments of the time. Originally entitled Soireestucke, the work contains three movements, performed attacca, each at a faster tempo than the previous. Schumann concurrently produced arrangements for violin and cello.
