Written in memory of a beloved orchestra conductor, this gorgeous piece is perfect for any occasion. The piece opens with the theme simply stated in the upper strings with a soft accompanying pizzicato ostinato in the lower strings. With beautiful melodic passages, cello arpeggios, and lovely viola countermelodies, the piece builds toward a stunning conclusion. It can be a great vehicle for developing legato bowing and expressive playing.
