This could be the highlight of your holiday concert! It begins with the old English slip jig Sir Roger de Coverly as played by three solo fiddlers (or two violins and one viola). This fiddle tune, named by Dickens in his 1843 masterpiece "A Christmas Carol," is followed by a rollicking rendition of The Wassail Song (Here We Come A-Caroling) and a slightly "fiddle-ized" version of Angels We Have Heard on High. The hornpipe The Rights of Man is then cleverly joined to God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen! The rousing finale is the English carol I Saw Three Ships! It's great fun and sounds big and full but is easy to play. Highly recommended!
