Fireflies

Fireflies is inspired by the final line from verse 254 of Rabindranath Tagore's "Fireflies", a book of poetry. The final line, for me, dwells on the perception of personal heaven, as possible to experience on earth. As a musician his text rings especially true, and I take the notion of "singing"the writer's personal heavento mean any kind of music-making. Thus the piece moves through struggle, seeking this ideal place and sound. Length: 6 min. 30 sec.
