Firefly

This quartet was composed as a solo and ensemble festival piece for four middle school percussionists. This composition is unique because it was written for bass drum, timpani, tom-toms, and either the crown of the cymbal or a brake drum. Easy to learn, fun to play, limited rehearsal time for the director and the performer. As the title suggests, this piece really moves, with many repeated rhythmic patterns interesting enough for all levels of students.
