Five Spanish Songs

This edition of Viardot-Garcia's vocal works in Spanish for voice and piano sheds light not only on the intellectual diva, singing professional, and composer, but also on the Spaniard who never forgot her roots. Garcia added these roots - cultivated, idealized, and used as an added value to her compositions - to the compositional output of her father Manuel García, and her sister, María Malibran. Songs: Caña española; El corazón triste; Canción española; Seguidilla de los oficialitos and El fandango del diablo. The latter two are duets.
