Flight

The marvel of flight has captivated humans for thousands of years, from the Greek myth of Icarus to the imaginings of Leonardo Da Vinci, realized by the Wright brothers and the rapid technological advancements of the 20th century. The songs in this complete show loosely tell the story of a person trying to escape a painful situation. After flying much too high in desperate need of escape, they fall to the ground. It's devastating, but the failure brings a peace that allows room for awakening and clarity. They ask for help, and the confidence they need to face the future and begin again is found. Musical genres featured in the show include a heavy metal opener, a dramatic rock change-of-pace, a lush orchestral ballad, a pop-rock setup song, and a world music closer.
