  circus brings the smell of the popcorn, peanuts, and the sights of all the
  animals.   The circus also brings all
  of the pageantry of the performers, artists and of course, the clowns.  It is an experience like no other.  Ride on the carousel, explore the fun
  house, and enjoy the twisted coaster. 
  It is nighttime and you are exploring the circus on your own. Enjoy

Dia de los Muertos (English: Day of the Dead) is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico &amp; and by people of Mexican heritage throughout the world.  The multi-day holiday from October 31-November 2 focuses on gatherings of family and friends that includes food, drink and celebration.

The family and friends welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion, to pray for them and support their spiritual journey.

There are two versions of this musical title.  The easier Grade 1.5 version is entitled Dia de los Muertos March. This version is the Grade 2.5 version entitled Noche de los Muertos March.  (English: Night of the Dead) It's a unique &amp; catchy little march that will be a hit with your kids and audiences alike!

Commissioned by Brian Ruiz for the Robert Vale Middle School Wind Ensemble.  Stingray March is a medium level march perfect for your next contest or festival. It's a very rhythmic piece that will make your ensemble sound fantastic!

Stingray March

The first civilian colonists of San Antonio, Texas, were a group of pioneers who hailed from the Canary Islands. In 1731, they founded the village of San Fernando de Bexar (now known as San Antonio) and established the first organized civil government in Texas. After an arduous journey by sea and land that spanned over a year, these weary travelers arrived on March 9, 1731. This group consisted of 56 individuals who emigrated by the decree of King Philip V.

"1731" is a lively Spanish Fanfare that is sure to captivate any audience! It features a trumpet solo at the beginning and end, symbolizing the departure from home and the arrival in a new land. The main theme is vibrant, reflecting the journey of the Canary Islanders across both sea and land. "1731" is dedicated to the San Antonio Symphonic Band, led by Dr. Esteban Montalvo, and will have its premiere in the spring of 2025.

Commissioned by Richard Rodriguez for the Stroman STEM Academy Band, Victoria ISD, "Battle Zone" is a music composition based on a fictional video game battle.  The music has an ominous beginning with low voices taking the lead. The main melody is hinted and then gradually revealed. The tune then crescendos to a raucous &amp; energetic level. You're in the Battle Zone now! I hope you enjoy "Battle Zone"!

Commissioned by Richard Rodriguez for the Stroman STEM Academy Symphonic Band, Victoria ISD, "Temple Chase" (Grade 1.5) is a programmatic composition based on a classic adventure storyline.  Our story starts with our hero/heroine in a temple in South America, looking for relics.  Boom.. Swish.. they've been discovered and must make a run for it!  The chase is on!  I hope you enjoy "Temple Chase"!

Star Gazers is an Easy-Medium Concert Band composition.   This fun piece portrays the feeling of
  gazing at constellations while soaring through space. There are unique
  harmonic structures and challenging rhythms for your young musicians.  Students will feel as they are hurdling
  through space at high speeds and meander through a nebula into new
  worlds!

Program Notes:  Beyond the Mist was composed by Ray Flores. It is a composition about overcoming obstacles and ones challenges; to see Beyond the Mist.  The composition is dedicated to Kevin Garcia-Hettinger &amp; Patrick Aguirre and the Brandeis High School Symphony Orchestra. "Beyond the Mist" was premiered at the 2023 Midwest Convention in Chicago, IL.
