The piece is entitled Fanfare for the Young and Young at Heart because it
  is approachable by performers of all ages, but also to celebrate the joy of
  life experienced by those who are able to maintain a youthful "anything
  is possible" perspective throughout their lives.
    
    
    
    This fanfare is written as an opener or closer for concert bands as early
  as their first year.  The writing is
  rhythmically approachable in comfortable ranges with enough repetition that
  it is easily mastered, while introducing students to articulations and light
  chromaticism.  
    
    
    
    It requires three timpani, and three tenor drums.  Parts are included for double reeds, low
  clarinets, low saxophones, horn and piano but are optional  Parts are doubled so that the ensemble will
  sound full even with limited instrumentation. 
  
    
    
    
    Low brass are featured early and must play fully throughout.  Percussion are featured in several
  sections.  
    
    
    
    The piece may be played successfully at tempos ranging from 120 to 156.

Advanced students are encouraged to play the entire arrangement.   Younger students are encouraged to play the introduction then measures 180 to the end. A version of this arrangement was played by the Tarleton State University Tuba and Euphonium ensemble at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) in February of 2024.  The arrangement is grade 4 with ranges as indicated below.  Treble clef euphonium parts are included.
