Incorporating four different styles of playing that will showcase the range of its performers, this piece is a great programming choice for recitals and small ensemble contests. The beginning statement provides a short preview of each of four distinct sections, each led by a different member of the ensemble: a split section; a texture section; a concert snare section; and a groove-based drum set section. Along with being the main voice, each leader gets a chance to improvise. The piece ends with fragments of each section while giving every player one last chance to shine.
