Forty Days and Forty Nights

This setting for use during Lent uses J.S. Bach's organ arrangement of Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Violins with Bach's own harmonization of the tune HEINLEIN, also referred to as AUS DER TIEFE ("Out of the Depths").  The middle stanzas use traditional and modern harmonies, while the final stanza combines elements of the Vivaldi/Bach concerto with the Bach hymn tune harmonization. Organ accompaniment with optional flute, oboe, and cello.
