Four Vignettes for Flute and Trombone

The work was commissioned by Philip and Shelley Martinson with support from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. The piece is written in four separate movements and is a multifunctional work. The movements can be played separately for specific occasions. The second movement, 'A Prayer for Peace,' would certainly stand alone for a church service. The third movement, 'So Cool,' could well be used separately as an encore for any program. The last movement, 'Pan and Syrinx,' could be used in a children's concert.
