Rhythms revolve around accented quarter and eighth notes.
Instrumentation is flexible requiring one metallic sound and three drums of graduated size. The preview is written for a brake drum, a tenor drum or snare drum with snares off, a floor tom, and a muffled bass drum or marching bass drum, but any instrument could be used that fits in high, medium, and low relative to the other instruments.
