Fugue

In his early Fugue in C, originally written for string quartet at the turn of the 20th century, Ives paraphrases the missionary hymn by Lowell Mason to the poem From Greenland's Icy Mountains, creating a fugue subject that he manipulates in the style of Baroque music.
