My inspiration for composing TRIBUTE was to provide a concert band song that could be performed at any occasion that was designed to pay tribute to an individual, or group of people.

It is my hope that TRIBUTE will provide students with a song that they will enjoy learning to play, and provide other music educators with a teaching tool that can be used to motivate and encourage their students.

"Laudis" is a Latin term meaning "praise" or "glory." LAUDIS was inspired by Psalm 150:6(NAS) which reads, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.  Praise the Lord!” 

LAUDIS was arranged for brass and percussion from an earlier work titled LAUDIS that I composed for the Madison County Central School Concert Band, Madison, in 2010.  LAUDIS for concert band was published in 2018 by Imagine Music Publishing.

It is my hope that LAUDIS will provide students with a song that they will enjoy learning to play, and provide other music educators with a teaching tool that can be used to motivate and encourage their students.

The word “hallowed” is often used to describe something that is considered to be: set apart, sacred, consecrated, or holy.

The composition HALLOWED, is an instrumental solo arranged for Oboe and piano accompaniment.  It was initially arranged as a French horn solo based on the piano solo entitled, BLESSED - which was inspired by the Beatitudes. 

It is my hope that HALLOWED will provide students with a song that they will enjoy learning to play, and equip other music educators with a teaching tool that can be used to motivate, and encourage their students.

The composition DAYDREAMIN’ was composed as an instrumental solo for the Baritone with piano accompaniment.  When I was a band director at Madison Middle School, Madison, Florida, I arranged/adapted DAYDREAMIN’ for the various instruments that my more advanced band students were playing – (Flute, Oboe, Bb Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Bb Trumpet, Horn in F, Trombone, Baritone, and Tuba).  

It is my hope that DAYDREAMIN’ will provide students with a song that they will enjoy learning to play, and equip other music educators with a teaching tool that can be used to motivate, and encourage their students.

The composition TREASURE OR THE HEART, was written for piano, and inspired by Matthew 6:21.  

TREASURE OR THE HEART, is dedicated to my amazing piano teacher Ruth Broadwater, Saint Petersburg, Florida.  I'm so very grateful to my parents for providing me with piano lessons at the age of five.  It was during this time I first begin to "make up" songs on the piano.

The word "Regalis" is derived from Latin, meaning "royal" or "kingly." It often refers to attributes or qualities associated with kingship or divine authority.
The composition REGALIS was initially composed for (Brass Choir and Percussion), and published in 2025 on MY SCORE Website, which is distributed by J. W. Pepper Music.  It was inspired by Mark 1:3 – “Prepare the way for the Lord; make his paths straight!”

REGALIS

The composition A SONG OF ASCENTS, is an instrumental solo composed for alto flute with piano accompaniment.  It was originally written as a tenor vocal solo titled PSALM 128 for my friend,  Mark E Branham, who has an incredible voice.  Psalm 128 is also known in Hebrew scriptures, as  A song of Ascents.  I have also arranged this song as an English horn,  and French horn solo. 
 
A SONG OF ASCENTS, is dedicated to my friend Mark E Branham, and to my sister Sandi Dorsey, who is an amazing flutist.  Listening to Sandi perform on the alto flute, inspired this arrangement.
