George London in Opera and Song

Canadian born bass-baritone George London made a tremendous impact on the operatic world in the course of a fifteen year career, cut short by illness. His beautifully textured, dark-hued voice encompassed a wide vocal range, from the depths of Boris Godunov to the baritone role of Amonasro in Verdi's Aida. He was equally renowned in Wagner as well as Mozart, and his keen dramatic sense and strikingly handsome appearance made him an ideal Don Giovanni.
