Glencrest was composed as a musical journal that occurred on spiritual
retreats of the Prestoncrest Church of Christ to Glen Eyrie, Colorado. The music consists of three movements. The first movement, A"Hubris MarchA",
describes taking on the complexities of life on oneA's own. After a tumultuous introduction, the first
theme starts tenuously, then with bluster.
This is then repeated with a secondary theme. The second movement, A"Quiet ReflectionsA",
is a collection of thoughtful themes in various places and attitudes. The second movement transitions into the
third and final movement with a clarinet obbligato. The third movement, A"CelebrationA", is the
joy that is encountered when a life is given completely to the Lord, thus
fully enjoying the spiritual journey.
