Here is a fresh, staccato setting of the traditional God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen that has a playful accompaniment within the minor key. While the melody is heard in conventional legato ringing, the accompaniment speaks with TD and stopped sounds creating a joyful contrast. When the melody is embellished in the final stanza and played in canon, the arrangement comes to a buoyant close.
