Goodness Box, The

The Goodness Box is a funky bossa nova chart that is correlated with the Standard of Excellence Advanced Jazz Ensemble Method. A riff-oriented melody over a funky rhythm section groove makes this a perfect concert or festival selection. Scored for full jazz band instrumentation, it's flexibly orchestrated so it can be played with as few as nine players. Everyone in the band has an opportunity to improvise in the open solo section and two suggested solos and a CD with a solo practice track are included to facilitate a successful learning experience.
