"Gortnamona" is one of the most beautiful of Irish songs written by Percy French. The title comes from the name of a beautiful Georgian house set in its own parkland in Co. Galway. Percy French was a close frequent visitor to Gortnamona. During one of these visits, shortly after the death of his beloved wife in 1891, he wrote "Gortnamona", a lyric in which he expressed his feelings of deep loss. Arranged for high voice (Key F) and orchestra (Fl, Ob, Cl, Hp, Pno, Strings).
