Grove Blues

This laid-back swing tune for string orchestra and rhythm section begins with a cool walking bass line with finger snaps, leading to a relaxed blues melody that sets the stage for a groovy ride. The ensemble eventually plays a big band style soft shout chorus peppered with Basie-esque piano fills which leads to the final playing of the melody. Grove Blues is a great alternative styles tune for easy/medium level groups. The piece is in G Major and no parts go beyond 3rd position. Players can improvise or use included inserts.
