Gymnopedie No. 3

This very popular selection by Eric Satie has been arranged for chamber orchestra (Fl., Ob., Cl., Bn., 2 Hns., Harp, and Strings) by Gary Robert Buchanan (2005). It has been performed and recorded by The Foundation Orchestra on several occasions - and has always been well-received by the audience. While there are various versions of the work available, this scoring adheres to the original style and intent of Satie - and his fellow orchestrator, Claude Debussy. The selection is not difficult to perform; rather, its effectiveness depends upon the melodic expressiveness of the players.
