Habanera from Carmen

Habanera is the popular name for L'amour est un oiseau rebelle (Love is a rebellious bird), one of the most famous arias from Georges Bizet's 1875 opera "Carmen." It is the entrance aria of the title character, a mezzo-soprano role, in scene 5 of the first act. Habanera is one of the most famous and popular opera arias in the repertoire. The majority of technical requirements have been reduced to make this arrangement suitable for mid-high-school-level performers. The melody passes between the various voices with drama and intensity. Scored for SATB or AATB saxophone quartet.
