This was commissioned for the Martin Luther King Jr. City Celebration
Ceremony in Cincinnati, Ohio. Held at Saint Marks Catholic Church in 2004.
I once again was inspire by Moses Hogan. While I was studying at the
Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music on tour. I brought the score to Mr.
Hogan for his review. He studied the score and Blessed it. I was so honored
to have received that chance to work with my inspirational master.
In 2010 it premiered at the ACDA Western Conference Convention in Tucson,
Az. with a debut performance at St. Augustine Cathedral.
Hallelujah Allelujah Amen is broken into three short connecting movements.
The first movement tells the story about humans lost in grief, sin,
sadness, and just wondering aimlessly in the shadows.
The second movement modulates transcends into beautiful interwoven colors
that depict discovery, awakening, healing, and forgiveness.
The third movement modulates back into minor but a triumphant battle as
soldiers on a conquest over sin and death.
The ending is high energy with a lot of rhythmic forces to strike a
glorious blow to the enemy in victory.
The piano accompaniment drives this whole composition. It is very exciting
and classical but it is also beautiful with its warm colors that are interwoven.
This composition will take you on an emotional spiritual journey of
self-discovery.
