John Thomas edition of the popular first movement of Handel's Concerto for Harp and Orchestra. This edition includes John Thomas's original fingerings rewritten in a manner consistent with modern harp markings, while also providing pedal changes and suggested dynamics. John Thomas (1826-1913) was a Welsh-born harpist who established himself as one of the premier harpists of his time. As a prolific performer, composer and arranger of harp music, he was one of the first to publish an edition of Handel's Concerto with suggested harp fingerings and an original cadenza. Note: The inclusion of the orchestral tutti sections within the harp part allows for the work to be performed as an unaccompanied harp solo. In the event that an accompanist is desired, an updated piano reduction of the orchestral score from the urtext is included in the set.
