A perfect introduction to the bossa nova style, it features a tuneful melody first presented in unison before counterpoint is added. This chart also features completely flexible instrumentation and is playable by four horns and rhythm section on up to full jazz ensemble format and beyond. Regardless of the selected instrumentation, it will sound full and complete. Young soloists can improvise using only the notes of concert D dorian scale with the included transposed scale sheet. Any instrument can solo, and the solo section can be repeated as many times as necessary with backgrounds cued as desired. For soloists wishing not to improvise, there is a suggested solo included in all parts. Wow...completely flexible!
