'He will speak peace' is an anthem for SATB (divisi), mezzo-soprano or treble solo, and organ
It is a setting of two verses from Psalm 85, and this anthem is dedicated to the memory of Bullard's teacher Herbert Howells. The expressive and calm setting also incorporates Song 1' by Orlando Gibbons (Eternal Ruler of the ceaseless round') mainly in the organ part, with the choir taking up and developing the hymn-tune in the final bars, to the words Mercy and truth are met together, righteousness and peace have kissed each other'.
Alan Bullard's church music is performed and broadcast world-wide, and is in the repertoire of many choirs. He has a reputation for music that choirs enjoy performing, and which speaks directly to listeners.
