Heckscher Park

This evocative, tightly constructed quartet for soprano, alto and two tenor saxophones is both lyrical and playful. In keeping with the composer's philosophy, it is meant to be fun to play and fun to listen to. The first movement, "Twilight," is a melodic and harmonically rich evening meditation. The second movement, "Morning," is lively and varied in tone, with a surefire crowd-pleasing ending. Originally written as a flute quartet, this piece has been fully reworked by the composer to be every bit as effective for saxophones as the original is for flutes.
