Help, Thanks, Wow

Beautifully crafted for treble choir, this set of three pieces is based on Anne Lamott's Help, Thanks, Wow: The Three Essential Prayers. Each piece represents an aspect of keeping prayer simple and how it is transformative for the one who prays. Translating her words into Latin, one word for each "essential prayer," the texts combine short English phrases with the Latin words and vowel sounds that create an emotive feel throughout all three pieces. The writing for both the piano and voices is creative and supportive, and each piece has a meditative quality. Each of the three pieces is also available separately.
