Highland Fling

This very playable and appealing overture is sure to be enjoyed by younger players.  Bold and dignified is how one would characterize the opening segment, which is followed by an energetic faster theme reminiscent of a Scottish Highland dance.  A tender hymn-like melody is then developed before returning to the faster theme and powerful closing coda.  Very well scored to sound full.
