Hip, Hip, Jorge!

Spanish dance rhythms and bright energy animate this concert band work built around approachable syncopation in both the melody and ostinato accompaniment. The title makes a playful nod to its composer, Jorge Vargas. Frequent sharps and naturals reinforce accidental reading skills, and cabasa, bongos, claves, and traditional Latin percussion keep every section actively involved and having fun.
